Nepal 2012 Conference

God’s presence and provision were abundant at the Nepal pastor’s conference in November. The theme for this year was found in Philippians 1:6.

“…being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Lazarus Thulung, Director of ServLife Himalayan Development, said it was a time of refreshment for the 60 church-planters and pastors who attended. “We want to encourage them every year,” he explains. “We had a great time together sharing from the Word of God, praying for one another and encouraging one another.”

Speakers were there from the US, and discussion centered around living lives worthy of our calling. As pastors planting churches in rural Nepal, this message was received deeply and with an understanding of its weight. With Christians making up just 1.4% of the nation’s 26 million people, the road these pastors walk is both long and critical. What a blessing to come alongside them and encourage their hard work of bringing hope to the hopeless.  We were excited to send 13 new graduates of the training program out to plant churches this year, including 2 women!

“We are renewed in our hearts and ready to go back the villages,” says Thulung.

Please pray for our pastors in Nepal as they spread the Gospel to an unbelieving nation.
