On Sunday, May 18, 2008, ServLife will be taking part for the second year in the annual Walking for Dreams Family and Pet Walk in Indianapolis, IN. We invite you to join us as we walk for those around the world who suffer from hunger, poverty and malnutrition. All proceeds raised for ServLife through this event will go to the ServLife Hope Fund, which is our micro-enterprise initiative for the unemployed and under-employed of the world who are trapped in the vicious cycle of hunger and poverty.
Walking for Dreams was started in 2004 to help non-profit organizations based in Indianapolis raise needed funds to enable them to do more of what they do. Walking for Dreams pulls together organizations to share in this joint fundraiser, and there will be over 25 non-profit organizations taking part in this event this year. Walkers of all ages will join together to support their organization by raising pledges and participating.
For those that would like to participate in the event, you may register online. When registering, indicate that your donations will be going to ServLife. The walk is approximately 5K and will be taking place downtown along the Canal (Starting at Buggs Temple at 11th Street, west of Meridian Street between Senate and Dr. Martin Luther King Drive.) Registration begins at 1:00 p.m. and the walk starts at 2:00 p.m.
