Fun, Faith, and Future

Last month, the vibrant energy of Vacation Bible School filled the air in Nepal, bringing together children, local leaders, and international partners for a truly blessed time. Led by our Nepal Director, Bekharaj, the program reached young hearts in Kathmandu and the nearby region of Nuwakot.

This year’s VBS was made possible through a partnership with eleven volunteers from Northview Church in Indianapolis. The team served alongside our local staff, bringing joy and mentorship to the children. Additionally, Group Publishing donated the VBS materials, providing the creative tools needed to bring the Bible to life.

The core mission was connecting children with the Word of God through interactive activities. “We especially had skits, games, Bible verse memorization, and stories from the Bible,” Bekharaj shared. “So we want that the children really know about God and learn from the Bible.” The Northview team helped make the scriptures accessible, as Bekharaj noted that the teachers “simplified the stories from the Bible” to ensure the message was clear.

Beyond the games, the program aimed to instill a lasting sense of hope. “They learned about God and they also learned how God can change their life,” Bekharaj explained. “And not only that, they learned that God has a plan and a purpose for their future. So they don’t need to worry. They need to trust God. They need to have a faith in God.”

As the week concluded, the impact was visible in the smiles of the children and the strengthened bonds of the community. Reflecting on the success of the program, Bekharaj concluded: “We praise God for this opportunity that we can serve kids in the church.”
