In Philippians 4 it says, “Then the peace of God that exceeds all understanding will keep your hearts and minds safe in Christ Jesus.” In early March, pastors traveled from all around Nepal to gather together. They met for a time of encouragement, teaching, and fellowship with each other and leaders from around the world. This year the pastors’ conference was in Chitwan, Nepal, which is about 110 miles southeast of Kathmandu. Pastors received teaching about the Peace of God in their lives. Director Bekharaj shares, “All the messages really encourage and refresh all the pastors. They are so excited.”
During this three-day training, pastors from all over Nepal get the opportunity to sit, eat, and learn together. They get to share this joy with each other and also feel encouraged by each other. Ministry is challenging everywhere; pastors are on the front line and are working with and helping the same people day in and day out, which can be exhausting.
“This conference is a time for the pastors to revive their heart, and to hear from God, to listen (to) God, to hear different stories.” Bekharaj shares, “It really encourages their hearts.” They started the conference with a message from ServLife Board Member Kyle Pierce who has pastoral experience and knows the challenges of leading. They also heard messages focused on Philippians 4 from other leaders who understand and work in the trenches with them.
Bekharaj said, “I think when they go back, they will have a new courage, new excitement to serve people, to love people, and to share the Gospel with them.”
