ServLife will be hosting the first Missional Theology Conference in South Africa July 10-12, in collaboration with Umzimba, a newly forming group of young African pastors and theologians who have joined together to write, debate, plant churches, and train leaders in new ways.
The conference is expected to have 30-40 people in attendance this year, with indigenous leaders presenting on various leadership topics including: Urban Church Planting in South Africa, Evangelism in Contemporary South Africa, Contextual Theological Education for Black Leaders, The Role of Women in the African Church, and more. The conference participants will have the opportunity to dialogue with other leaders and discuss the topics presented.
Steven Nicholson, ServLife Staff in South Africa, will be helping to coordinate the conference. “ServLife is participating in this effort to support indigenously-led post-colonial missiology in practice and we’re expecting a bright future for the Church as a result of this gathering,” says Nicholson. “Please join us in praying for the final details of this conference to come together over the next week and a half.”
