MERCY CHILDREN'S ORPHANAGE
Mercy Children's Orphanage was founded in 2005 by Emmanuel Sajor Shaw. As a young man Emmanuel converted to Christianity and was therefore ostracized from his strict muslim community. Despite this hardship he still clung tightly to his beliefs and the callings God put on his heart. Emmanuel had a dream of opening an orphanage and caring for children in his native Sierra Leon. Since 2005 the orphanage has grown to care for 22 children who are being raised in a safe, loving home. The orphanage has their own garden, pig farm, and school to help the children pursue a bright future.
