ECFA accepts ServLife as a member

During an 18-month period beginning in 1979, 150 pioneering ministries came together to form the ECFA (Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability) and receive the designation of ECFA charter members. Some of these organizations included Campus Crusade for Christ, Food for the Hungry, Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, World Vision U.S., The Navigators, & The International Bible Society. Today, ECFA’s membership is now 1,181 organizations with combined income of approximately $14 billion. ServLife is now a member of ECFA as of July 29, 2005. The Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability has a mission statement that says: “ECFA is committed to helping Christ-centered organizations earn the public’s trust through developing and maintaining standards of accountability that convey God-honoring ethical practices. ” ECFA is an accreditation agency dedicated to helping Christian ministries earn the public’s trust through adherence to seven Standards of Responsible Stewardship. ECFA’s Standards of Responsible Stewardship focus on board governance, financial transparency, integrity in fund-raising, and proper use of charity resources.
