Office Manager doesn’t even begin to describe the role or impact that Rachel Moss has had on ServLife over the last 11 years. Not only has she worn many different hats around the office, but she has also partnered with our Executive Director and staff to cultivate the adaptable spirit that is embodied in ServLife as an organization. She has been through many office moves, staffing changes, new partnerships, and lots of changes in technology. Rachel has modeled that adaptable spirit in her willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done. After 11 years, Rachel is taking the next step in her career and taking a position at a local nonprofit. Her shoes will not easily or ever be truly filled and we will miss her greatly.
Rachel recently shared, “I feel like this has been coming for 5 years. I’ve reached a point of being at ServLife and working at ServLife where there really isn’t an opportunity for me to grow or expand in my abilities. It was a bit of a surprise for me. I did some career counseling, never thinking that I would need to move away from ServLife. It has been God’s guiding hand that has led me to that conclusion and given me the ability to make that change confidently.”
Rachel joined the ServLife staff after graduating from Purdue University in 2010 when a friend of a friend sent her the job posting. Throughout the years of serving on staff, Rachel has grown in her passion for the work that ServLife is doing and the holistic approach to ministry it takes. “I just love what ServLife does. How each part of the programs we run work together to impact India and Nepal as a whole.” From orphanages to scholarships for those who can’t afford an education, to microfinance loans in a village to build sustainability, to pastor training. We know that the love of Jesus is the overarching and main goal of what we do.
It’s not easy to say goodbye to someone so dear, and we are grateful that her involvement with ServLife has not fully concluded. She and her family will remain supporters, child sponsors, and eagerly await each update from across the ocean. Although we are sad to see Rachel go, we know this next endeavor will provide many opportunities for growth and that her impact will be just as great there as it has been at ServLife. Thank you, Rachel, and may God bless you in your next steps.
