Priya

Priya is raising her son and daughter in a remote village in west Nepal. Her husband, unable to find local work, has been in Malaysia the last year working as a carpenter. His work doesn’t cover all his family’s expenses, so Priya needs to work too.

“I went to a sewing training and sewed in India for a while,” Priya shares. “A year ago I received a loan to buy a sewing machine and started this shop. I like sewing and I am skilled at it. I enjoy running this shop.”

The shop brings in about $120 per month, which covers basic needs like groceries, clothes, and her children’s school tuition. She has an 18-month loan, and has been able to pay every single month successfully.

“This loan has helped provide for our family financially,” Priya concludes. “And I am praying that God will provide for my family spiritually.”
