The Gospel of Jesus brings hope, restoration, and healing, and we are committed to equipping pastors to share this transformative message. Recently, we celebrated the graduation of our Pastor Training program, marking the beginning of a new chapter for 13 graduates who are now returning to their villages.
In many regions of India and Nepal, there is a significant need for trained pastors and church leaders. As Bekharaj, National Director in Nepal, explains, “Since they don’t have a training, when people come to the Lord, they have no idea how to lead the church.” This lack of training can hinder the growth and effectiveness of new churches, leaving pastors feeling ill-equipped to shepherd their congregations.
The Pastor Training program addresses this need by providing pastors with the tools and resources they need to thrive in ministry. The training focuses on both spiritual and practical aspects of leadership.
The three-month program provides a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip pastors for effective ministry. Participants engage in rigorous classes, exploring topics such as:
Spiritual Growth: Developing their own relationship with God and cultivating spiritual disciplines.
Bible Study and Theology: Deepening their understanding of God’s Word and biblical principles.
Old and New Testament Survey: Gaining a broad overview of the entire Bible.
Discipleship: Learning how to make disciples and nurture the spiritual growth of others.
Leadership: Gaining practical skills in leading and managing a church.
Evangelism and Preaching: Developing skills in sharing the Gospel and delivering effective sermons.
Counseling: Learning how to provide support and guidance to individuals and families.
As these graduates return to their villages, they carry with them the knowledge and skills they’ve gained and a renewed sense of purpose. Sanjeev, one of the graduates, shares, “I came here with confusion, but now my vision is clear. I leave here renewed and passionate about ministry.”
Upendra, the oldest graduate at 54, sees this training as a second chance to fulfill his calling. He says, “Even after becoming a believer, I thought religious work was for when we’re older. I spent my 30s and 40s chasing money instead of getting to know God. But now, I realize how great our God is and how fulfilling it is to serve Him.”
Despite the challenges they will face, these graduates are stepping into their calling with faith and courage. Bekharaj’s vision for them is clear: “So we want that they go and they share the love of Christ to the people. They share the Word of God to the believers. They also love people. They spend time with them. And we want that they also train other people and invest their time, their talent, in the lives of the people, so that other people can also be blessed.”
The journey of these graduates highlights the transformative power of ministry. Your prayers and contributions ensure that these leaders have the support they need to thrive in their mission.
